The Metatrader is a Forex software widely used by speculative traders. It is also used for contract for differences and futures contract. Actually the MetaQuotes Software latest version is Metatrader 5. The client terminal includes a built-in editor & compiler with access to a user contributed free library of software, articles and help. It consists on a software that supports algorithmic trading.
Although there are many optional alternative trading softwares, the Metatrader is by far the most used Forex software. There are of course third party developers that bridge softwares, integrating them with financial software, but the Metatrader is more commonly used as a standalone tool and a complete solution by many brokerages. Apart from the Metatrader, there is a version still in development that is meant to be free source.
A trading platform is designed to provide brokerage services to customers in Forex, CFD, Futures, as well as equity markets. It allows clients to trade in many several financial markets from a single account. It is a working tool for traders, intended for real time trading in the financial markets. Trading, technical analysis of quotes and automated trading are integral parts of the client terminal.
